Youth Clinic Cauberg Valkenburg

Parallel to the world-famous Cauberg in Valkenburg lies the Kuurpark at the foot of Holland Casino. Here, there is an asphalted oval with significant elevation changes where, starting in May 2026, the Zuyd Cycling Team will provide cycling clinics as a pilot project for children aged 8 to 12.

Zuyd Cycling Team uses the Tom Dumoulin Bikepark in Sittard as its base, where a large group of youth members trains weekly. To introduce children in the Heuvelland region to road cycling in a car-free location, cycling clinics will also be held at this site starting in 2026. From then on, children seeking more of a challenge can join training sessions at the Tom Dumoulin Bikepark in Sittard.

Clinic dates in Valkenburg up to and including the summer holidays:

• May 7 and 21

• June 4 and 18

• July 2

Important information

• Participation is possible on a road bike or a mountain bike. If desired and available, the association can provide a loan road bike.

• The cycling clinics are intended to introduce you to climbing, descending, cornering, shifting gears, braking, etc. It is not a competition.

• Participation is at your own risk and a helmet is mandatory!

• Please note: there is currently no toilet available at the training location.

• The training sessions are from 18:30 to 19:45.

• Parents remain present at the location during the clinics.

• Accessibility: the location can be reached by turning right past the Holland Casino and heading down, or via the entrance halfway up the Cauberg next to the Provincial Resistance Monument.

• You can park in the Holland Casino parking lot.
